“The Cat That Wouldn’t Die” Compilation releases March 30

The LP’s have been pressed.. the jacket and insert printed..

..and when they’re all put together and slipped into their tidy sleeves, we’ll have THE CAT THAT WOULDN’T DIE double LPs, in the flesh and clasped in our grubby, greedy hands, ready to ship at last! Ain’t nothing like the zipper sound of pulling open that seal…

The Cat That Wouldn’t Die front cover art by Heather L. Johnson.

Modeled after The Dog That Wouldn’t Die, a cassette tape of quick expressions and sonic outbursts that CIA released in 1986, THE CAT THAT WOULDN’T DIE is the love child of George L. Shea, Bob Weber, and David Notarius, who wanted to celebrate “The Dog”’s 40th anniversary in the context of the swirling bucket of vomit that constitutes our historic moment today.

The concept was inspired by Morgan Fisher’s 1980 release, Miniatures, which rallied 51 artists into recorded single minute-long songs. It includes x45 2-minute tracks by 44 international artists, lovingly cut onto two beautifully crafted vinyl slabs; a 60-page 11” x 11” magazine insert with art, words and cat pictures contributed by the artists; and drawings, design and layout work by Houston artist Heather L. Johnson.

Watch this space for links and further announcements! ‘Cause we can’t wait.
