Tim Muddiman is an English artist and musician known for his distinctive blend of music and visual art.
CIA is proud to release his solo debut single, Sea Shells, on April 21, 2025.
Tim’s journey began with a love for Rockabilly, the Roland TR808 drum machine, and catchy melodies….
By his teens, Tim was DJing at illegal raves in the UK, and in his twenties, he toured Europe with various industrial bands. At 28, he joined Gary Numan’s band, performing almost 400 shows worldwide as bass player and guitarist over two decades. Tim also played with Junkyard, a local Rockabilly band, and became the guitarist for Pop Will Eat Itself. He co-wrote and produced tracks for their album Anti Nasty League in 2015. Tim also released music with The Strange, producing Paradise Runs Deeper and Domino Blitz between 2014 and 2018.
As a visual artist, Tim creates cinematic portraits and geometric/architectural paintings. His work has evolved from acrylics on canvas to oil paintings on linen, gaining international recognition.
After he took a break to focus on painting, Tim has returned to the music scene with his first single in nearly a decade, "Sea Shells," which is accompanied by a video addressing the damage done to Earth by the industrialization of global commerce, and the environmental toll of unchecked progress. The single, released in April 2025 by CIA, marks the beginning of his new musical chapter. Tim’s upcoming work promises a sound described as "snakes of guitars gargling on the throat of an emotional bass string," with sparse percussion and English lyrics that form an abstract mindscape.
